Macondo Chamber Players (MCP) stands at the forefront of an exciting new generation in classical music. Founded in 2012 by violinist Jose Romero and pianist Carlos Vargas, MCP brings together established and emerging artists from Latin-America and the world to perform chamber music, teach young people, and encourage international understanding.
MCP invites guest artists who come together in different combinations for each concert, providing audiences with exceptional performances of a wide variety of repertoire. MCP’s exciting programs feature masterpieces of the standard repertoire along with lesser-known Latin-American folk, classical, and popular music.
While committed to the highest standards of music making, we are also passionately committed to education. MCP’s educational programs follow the belief that artists of today have an undeniable moral commitment to teach, share and collaborate with young people, especially those coming from the poorest strata of society.
Macondo Chamber Players, one of the only international chamber music organizations focusing on Latin America, offers a unique cultural exchange between local audiences and artists from all over the world. By attending a MCP performance, or experiencing our educational programs, you will undoubtedly witness the humbling efforts of our artists and hopefully gain a new found appreciation for different cultures, music, art and life.
